Last year, the high-level departure of senior executives from Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM) grabbed the headlines, but, in general, it was a good year for most of the investment fund industry.

Equity market returns averaged about 8 to 8.5 per cent for managed funds. These in turn boosted strong inward investment flows from clients.
