Good planning can counter rising interest rates

Investors should take action now to help themselves cope with rising interest rates, according to a consultant specialising in overseas property purchases.

Michael Bolger of Empire, who advises buyers on investing abroad, said rising rates were affecting the finances of overseas buyers and could frighten less experienced investors out of the market. ‘‘We have always felt that too many people investing in the same over-hyped locations is a major weakness in these markets that could lead to problems,” said Bolger.
