Goldman Sachs, the global investment behemoth, is advancing plans to become one of the largest players in the Irish hotel sector.

The Sunday Business Post has established that the investment bank acquired the bank debt of Tifco, which owns a chain of five hotels and has management contracts on a string of other properties.
