Despite the syncopated energy of the soundtrack, melancholy looms large in Billy Roche’s play The Cavalcaders. The Cavalcaders of the title are a barbershop quartet with a pitch-perfect repertoire, but in the more prosaic parts of their life, there is little harmony.
