Shareholders were given glimmers of hope at last week’s agm, as chairman Tony O’Reilly and chief executive Peter Cameron trotted out defiant statements that signalled the company had finally put a stop to its sales slide.

The annual general meeting was also told that the company had signed an outline deal with Ballymore Properties to develop spare land at its flagship site...
