The tall hedges and trees screening homes on the eastern stretch of Woodlands Park in Blackrock in south Co Dublin are an obvious inconvenience to curious passers-by. Those who steal a glimpse in between gaps and gates can, however, expect to see handsome 1930s houses, set on good-sized sites shielded from the chaos of the nearby N11. It’s a quiet, mature spot – near shops, buses and offices while feeling totally suburban.
