Revenue at food group Glanbia jumped 23.3 per cent to €2.67 billion, although it was another difficult year for the food retail market in Ireland, the company said.

The company reported a 17.9 per cent rise in operating profit to €161 million during 2011, according to its annual results for the year. Positive global dairy markets underpinned a solid performance by its dairy business in Ireland despite the challenges its consumer products business faces, it said.
