Glanbia brings Irish milk to French shelves in Euro 4m deal

Irish liquid milk hit French supermarket shelves for the first time in the last few days.

Glanbia's export of UHT milk to French supermarket Casino is its first foray into consumer products in that country.

Irish liquid milk hit French supermarket shelves for the first time in the last few days, after Glanbia secured a €4 million contract with Casino, one of France's largest retail groups.

''We will supply six million litres over six months, Anthony Cameron, Glanbia's director of exports, told The Sunday Business Post. ''The first delivery was two weeks ago, and two containers are now leaving Ireland daily.

The product is UHT (ultra-high temperature processed) long-life milk...
