Getting the lead out

Large numbers of Irish homes and businesses have lead in their tap water and a new standard has put them above minimum limits, writes Michael Brennan.

Lead was removed from petrol and paint in the 1980s because of the huge health risks associated with it. But to this day, it is still showing up at dangerous levels in our drinking water due to the continued presence of lead pipes in the water supply system.
