Data centres are increasingly becoming the powerhouses on which firms rely to do business effectively and efficiently, writes Leslie Faughnan
There is one clear sense in which data centres have not changed significantly over the years: they combine the highest standards of engineering, resilience in every sense from power to connectivity, and levels of security that private entities would strive to emulate, much less match.
They offer ‘five nines' (99.999 per cent) or ‘six nines' of uptime. In essence, that is what they have invested in and that is what their customers pay them for....
