A Donegal single-owner collection leads KnotWarp&Weft18, Sheppard’s auction of fine carpets: Persian, Asian, Aubusson and those made in the Donegal Carpet Factory at Killybegs, the only place in western Europe where hand-knotted carpets are still made. On offer are 14 late 20th-century examples and one from the 1970s, its design based on an early medieval illuminated manuscript in the Book of Kells (€8,000-€12,000).
