Germany will think twice before dumping euro

In spite of it all, none of the major parties in Germany is even thinking of abandoning the euro ship. Not in public anyway, writes Simon Kingsley in Berlin

The general feeling in Germany with regard to the euro is at present somewhat akin to what it might have been like on the Titanic before things turned truly James Cameron.

Greece and Ireland were the iceberg, if you like.

The ship carries on, but the damage has been done because the design and course were faulty from the get-go.
