Germany to study EU proposals on debt sharing

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government will study proposals made by the European Commission on joint euro-area bond sales and aid for troubled banks before passing judgment, the Finance Ministry said.

“We have to look at the Commission’s proposal in detail, then we can say what we think about it,” Martin Kotthaus, the German Finance Ministry’s chief spokesman, said by text message.
