German unemployment unexpectedly rose for the first time in six months in April as the euro zone debt crisis dampened economic growth, Bloomberg News said.

German unemployment unexpectedly rose for the first time in six months in April as the euro zone debt crisis dampened economic growth, Bloomberg News said.

The number of people out of work increased by a seasonally-adjusted 19,000 to 2.87 million.
