German GDP growth slowed in 2012

German economic expansion slowed to 0.7 per cent in 2012 after achieving three per cent growth in 2011, new figures released by the Federal Statistics Office showed.

German economic expansion slowed to 0.7 per cent in 2012 after achieving three per cent growth in 2011, new figures released by the Federal Statistics Office showed.

Economists had forecast growth of 0.8 per cent, Bloomberg News reported.

The euro debt crisis and weaker global growth dampened exports and company investment.
