German business sentiment beats forecasts

German business sentiment has beaten forecasts with the Ifo business climate index hitting its highest level since last June.

German business sentiment improves

German business sentiment has beaten forecasts with the Ifo business climate index hitting its highest level since last June.

The index rose to 104.2 in January from 102.4 in December, against average forecasts for a value of 103.

Germany's Bundesbank said this week there were indications that the economy was already rebounding from a contraction in the last quarter of 2012.
