German business confidence index falls in June

German business confidence fell more than expected in June, according to the Ifo institute in Munich.

The drop marks the second consecutive monthly fall for the index

German business confidence fell more than expected in June, according to the Ifo institute in Munich.

The index dropped to 109.7 from 110.4 in May.

In a press release, Ifo president Hans-Werner Sinn said that assessments of the current business situation “remained good”, but that companies were less optimistic about future developments.
