Ireland’s EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Máire Geoghegan-Quinn has launched a €2 million prize to encourage new developments in vaccines.

The prize is being offered by the European Commission to encourage inventors to overcome one of the biggest barriers to using vaccines in developing countries: the need to keep them stable at any ambient temperature.
