GECAS places $3.9bn order with Boeing

Shannon-based GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has announced an order for 40 737s worth approximately $3.9 billion.

40% of commercial aircraft are now supplied by leasing companies.

Shannon-based GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has announced an order for 40 737s worth approximately $3.9 billion.

The company, which is the largest aviation leasing company in the world, consists of 20 737 MAX 8s and 20 Next-Generation 737-800s.

GECAS is the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of General Electric and has two corporate headquarters, one in Shannon and the other in Stamford, Connecticut.
