The export-led economic recovery continued in the second quarter of the year, business group IBEC has said in reaction to the latest GDP figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
The economy grew by 1.6 per cent in the second quarter of 2011, beating economists' forecasts by some measure, the figures show.
Bloomberg News said the average forecast was for 0.3 per cent growth.Compared to last year, GDP grew by 2.3 per cent.
