Gardaí to work on Patrick's Day

The Garda Representative Association is debating whether not to renew the new pilot roster system on April 30, but its members will work on St Patrick's Day.

The Garda Representative Association (GRA) might consider not renewing the new pilot roster system on April 30. Last Thursday, Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan announced that the St Patrick's Day festival on March 17 was "an extraordinary event" and directed that gardaí must be available to work.

Under their anti-Croke Park campaign, gardaí have not made themselves available for overtime in policing particular events.
