Garda crisis: McCabe learned of Shatter resignation later than most

Garda Sergeant Maurice McCabe only found out about the resignation of Alan Shatter almost two hours after it happened, because he was in a meeting about his complaint at the time.

He had his phone on silent mode during the internal meeting in Mullingar garda station at 4.30pm last Wednesday, where he was present to discuss his complaint about bullying and intimidation by senior officers.
