Low-profile developer Gerry Gannon is the private investor who paid €4.9 million for an investment property at 53 Dawson Street in Dublin last week.
The yield after costs is around 1.65 per cent, a record low for Dublin and less than he could have earned if he had put the money in a deposit account.
Gannon attended the auction personally and bid himself, rather than through a solicitor.
