Gaming: The price of hype
Can a game be both a mighty achievement and a marginal disappointment? If it's been as hyped as Destiny, the answer is a reluctant yes, says Joe Griffin.
Destiny is a first-person shooter that its publishers claim cost $500 million (€386 million) to produce. It’s fair to say that it comes from good stock, coming from the two most iconic developers of first-person shooters today. It was developed by Bungie, which is best known for the Halo franchise, and published by Activision (Call of Duty).
