Game on for Irish at GDC

Next month's E3 is the most heavily hyped interactive entertainment expo in the world, but the real deals of importance are made at events like GDC, writes Joe Griffin.

It's hard to think of an event equivalent to E3 outside the gaming industry. The showcase, which takes place in early June every year, will unveil new products from each of the major hardware and software developers, and is as widely reported and hyped as you'd expect.

But for developers, especially independent Irish ones, GDC in the United States in March, and its sister, GDC Europe in August, are the events to attend.
