The British government could soon put an end to several lucrative sponsorship deals held by Premiership clubs.

Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham Hotspur’s shirt sponsorship deals could be under threat after the Gambling Commission announced an investigation into whether links with online gaming companies encouraged children to gamble.

Championship club Leeds United could also be hit by the ruling.
