Galway to gain 200 jobs in software and medical devices

US medical device manufacturer Merit Medical has announced more than 150 new jobs, while software firm Copperfasten has said it will create 37 new jobs.

US medical device manufacturer Merit Medical has announced more than 150 new jobs at its operation in Galway this morning.

The company currently employs 379 people at its facility in Parkmore and a new €20 million facility will be opened today. The IDA-backed jobs are expected to be in Research and Development, operations support and manufacturing, with over a third of them graduate positions.

Meanwhile, Galway based software firm Copperfasten has said it will create 37 new jobs.
