NUI Galway has continued to attract significant funding and forge new research partnerships despite the ongoing economic downturn.

In July, Fujitsu Laboratories, a wholly-owned subsidiary of global ICT giant Fujitsu, began a significant investment in a research programme with Digital Enterprise Research Institute (Deri) based in NUI Galway.

The research is being conducted in the area of 'networked knowledge', identifying new models and commercial opportunities for exploiting the vast quantities of static and dynamic data...
