Gallagher to head Iceland delegation

Newly-elected MEP Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher has been assigned to head the European Union’s accession negotiations with Iceland.

Newly-elected MEP Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher has been assigned to head the European Union’s accession negotiations with Iceland.

The North West MEP will shortly be named as chairman of the European Parliament delegation that will handle political relations with Iceland. The move is seen as a significant appointment in the run up to the second Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
