Irish banana company Fyffes could become a target for large Asian trading houses after the long-running merger talks with global fruit company Chiquita were terminated late last week.
Chiquita’s shareholders voted against the merger in the face of a rival cash offer from Brazilian private equity firm Safra Group and juice maker Cutrale Group.
