The Irish fund industry is approaching the $2 trillion dollar mark for the first time, according to new research.

Funds serviced in Ireland reached $1.935 trillion (€1.229 trillion) as of June 30, 2008, reflecting annual growth of 18 per cent compared with the previous year.

Lipper’s 14th annual edition of the Ireland Fund Encyclopaedia showed total net assets in Ireland-domiciled funds reached $1.241 trillion (up from $1.1 trillion the year before). There were a total of 3,125 funds and sub-funds...
