The Department of Finance is considering extending the fuel rebate for hauliers to private coach operators, following lobbying by representatives of the industry.
Bus operators have been putting their case to department officials in recent weeks, and Minister for Finance Michael Noonan now looks likely to include a rebate scheme as an amendment in the forthcoming Finance Bill.
