In the past, I have likened state interference in the Irish property market to a comedy of errors where the protagonists continue to blunder on, doing everything wrong, yet expecting that, somehow, things will turn out all right. There is a dangerous assumption in politics that policies adopted in good faith and with good intentions are good policies.
