Fresh focus on immigration

Two cases involving immigrants have hit the headlines this week.

The case of teenager Olukunle Elukanlo, in particular, has put the immigration system back in the spotlight. The second case concerning a contract employee with Irish Ferries has put the focus on economic migrants and Ireland's labour shortage - and on the risks of exploitation.
