Freedom of information to apply to more public bodies

Freedom Of Information legislation is to be expanded, according to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin.

Freedom Of Information legislation is to be expanded, according to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin.

The legislation is to include all statutory bodies and all bodies that receive “substantial public funding”, according to Howlin.

Some Garda bodies will also be subject to the expansion, subject to some security exceptions, said Howlin.
