Many Irish viewers could be able to watch Premiership games for nothing from 2007 simply by tuning into BBC and ITV, the English Premier League has admitted.
The British television rights are up for grabs this Thursday, when at least five broadcasters, including the BBC, ITV, BSkyB and Irish firm Setanta, are expected to pitch for games. Bids are predicted to come in at over stg£2 billion (€3.2million) for the entire season of 138 games.
