Former solicitor sues Anglo

Anglo wants High Court to strike out the claim on the ground that the bank offered the loan to a company, writes Kieron Wood.

A former solicitor and his wife who planned to buy six development sites in Co Galway have sued Anglo Irish Bank over what they claim is the bank's failure to complete the agreed loan.

Frank and Lorna Burke, who practises as Burke and Co in Forster Street, Galway, claim that Anglo agreed to lend them €546,000 in December 2002 to buy development sites in Kinvara. But after advancing the deposit of €54,000, the bank failed...
