Former Roscommon cigar factory sells after auction

Connaughton Auctioneers last week confirmed the sale of the ECMI premises in Co Roscommon, which came under the hammer at Durkins in Ballaghaderreen last Friday week.

The former cigar factory, in operation since 1978, closed in May and moved its operations to the Far East.

The building spans some 47,500 square feet (4,413 square metres) and sits on 3.1 acres. According to auctioneer Ivan Connaughton, bidding started at €400,000 and rose to €540,000 before being withdrawn.
