Former FAI chief executive resigns from family firm

Fran Rooney, the former chief executive of the Football Association of Ireland and Baltimore Technologies, has resigned as a director of his family's investment company, Nirvana Technologies.

Rooney, who was the chairman of the company, resigned from the firm in May and the subsequent documentation was lodged with the Companies Registration Office in the past two weeks.

Rooney has previously used the company, which takes its name from Rooney's house in Castleknock, Co Dublin, as a private investment vehicle.
