Former chairman of gold mining firm disputes signing statement

Mining industry veteran Hugh Gibney has claimed he was fired from his role as chairman of Irish gold exploration company IMC for questioning the veracity of a chairman's statement which was sent out on his behalf to shareholders in recent weeks.

Mining industry veteran Hugh Gibney has claimed he was fired from his role as chairman of Irish gold exploration company IMC for questioning the veracity of a chairman's statement which was sent out on his behalf to shareholders in recent weeks.

Gibney was voted out of his position at a director's meeting last week, following a request he made for changes to be made to the statement, which bore his signature.
