Former Anglo boss Sean Fitzpatrick arrested and charged
UPDATE: Former Anglo Irish Bank chairman and chief executive Sean Fitzpatrick has been charged with 16 offences, according to reports.
Former Anglo Irish Bank chairman and chief executive Sean Fitzpatrick has been charged with 16 offences under the Companies Act as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud at the bank.
A Garda told the court that Fitzpatrick declined to comment when charges were read to him.
Two of his former Anglo colleagues, Willie McAteer and Pat Whelan, were also charged with 16 offences as part of the same investigation yesterday.
