After languishing in the backwater of the property investment market for decades, the service station sector looks set for a double boost thanks to growth in electrical vehicles (EV) and increased demand from chains of both fuel and convenience stores.

John Carrigan of Cushman & Wakefield, who has been involved in recent sales, said some private investors were also becoming attracted by generous yields and strong covenants.
