Ford Focus tops sales charts

With almost 11,000 units sold, the Ford Focus was Ireland's best-selling car in 2005.

With almost 11,000 units sold, the Ford Focus was Ireland's best-selling car in 2005.

The focus had a 6.5 per cent share of all cars sold last year, which came in at 171,753 units.

The remainder of the top ten best sellers list were as follows: Toyota Corolla, 9,403; Toyota Avensis, 8,843; VW Golf, 7,033; Nissan Almera 6,749; Opel Astra, 4,819; Renault Megane, 4,783; Ford Fiesta, 4,411; Skoda Octavia 3,946 and Toyota Yaris, 3,867 units.
