The idea for the first Bloomsday was hatched over drinks at the bar by its then owner, John Ryan, and Flann O'Brien in 1954.

The idea for the first Bloomsday was hatched over drinks at the bar by its then owner, John Ryan, and Flann O'Brien in 1954. Ryan went on to install the door of 7 Eccles Street at The Bailey after rescuing it from demolition.

The current owners will be serving a traditional Bloomsday breakfast - including kidneys and crust-crumbed liver...
