The owner of a five-star hotel in Dublin city centre is planning a €3.5 million expansion, in spite of the hospitality industry going through a tough time.

Planning permission for 34 new bedrooms at the Fitzwilliam Hotel was granted during the summer, and owner Michael Holland is hoping that the expansion will start in early 2013.
