There are two simple ways to know if you're really unfit or carrying too much weight, according to Karl Henry, personal trainer and fitness expert on RTE's Operation Transformation. Simply take your resting heart rate and your waist measurement.
For the former, take your pulse first thing in the morning while you're still in bed. Count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply by four. As a rule, the lower the number, the fitter you are.
