The longer I’m in this business, the rarer I think good ballet dancers are. You not only need to have the aesthetically pleasing physical form, you need to have certain confirmation that form is going to be able to produce the required technique.

Dancers can’t be too tall; you can’t get a round movement efficiently or quickly enough. It’s helpful to have longer legs, it’s also more beautiful....
