I was always adventurous. When I was a kid I lived in the country, and myself and my friends used to try to get lost so that we’d get into the newspaper.

I started rowing when I was eight years old. I immediately fell in love with the water. It became an obsession.

Rowing is a bit like an underground fight club scene.
