First Holy Communion spend drops 25% to €744

The average family spent €744 on their child’s First Holy Communion this year, down from €1000 in 2011, according to a bank survey.

The average family spent €744 on their child’s First Holy Communion this year, down from €1000 in 2011, according to a bank survey.

Nearly half of the money, or €303, was spent on food and drink with a further €86 on entertainment, an Ulster Bank survey showed. On average, the Communion outfit and accessories cost €179 while clothing for the rest of the family cost €176.
