Fingal County Council is expected to finalise the sale of its waste collection business to a private operator within two weeks, making it the third of the four Dublin councils to get out of the waste business.

Up to five bidders are understood to have expressed an interest in acquiring the waste business. Final bids were submitted ten days ago, and industry sources said that they expected a bidder to be selected within a fortnight,...
